The inspiration for the St. Jude Hope in the Harbor gala is a young woman from Ellicott City, MD named Keeley, who created the St. Jude Hope in the Harbor gala with family and friends 15 years ago.
The event also celebrates a young man from Centreville, MD named William. Both Keeley and William were diagnosed with a form of brain cancer called medulloblastoma in 2007 at the ages of 14 and 10 respectively.
While Keeley and Will have lost their battles with the disease, their courage and ever present wit continue to inspire many others to keep fighting and to keep supporting the work of St. Jude.
Since its inception, St. Jude Hope in the Harbor has raised over $3,000,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The gala evening will include cocktails, entertainment, dinner, live and silent auctions and a St. Jude mission moment.
